Dental Implants
A dental implant is a small titanium post that serves as an artificial substitute for the root of a missing tooth. A small hole is usually created into your jawbone at the site of the intended implant placement and the implant is then lightly tapped or screwed into place. The bone then normally heals around the implant and thus provides a solid anchor for the replacement tooth. Dental implants can be used to support a single crown, a bridge or dentures.
Implants are the ideal solution to replace missing teeth as they are a longer-term solution than bridges and do not rely on preparing or drilling neighbouring healthy tooth tissue. Dental implants also prevent the bone loss that is commonly associated with missing teeth.
Here at Dentaliving, our highly experienced implantologist uses the Straumann Implant system. This is due to its long standing track record in this field and wide range of implants available to cater from most clinical situations.
